If a restaurant critic gets food poisoning from a restaurant, is it the end for that restaurant?

or can the restaurant owner tell the critic not to print any bad review about the restaurant?

I work part time for a restaurant and a food critic got food poison from a meal he had here a couple of nights ago. So far there has been nothing in the newspapers yet, but my manager is really worried. Can he fight this? Should I start looking for a new job?If a restaurant critic gets food poisoning from a restaurant, is it the end for that restaurant?
Is your management or cook staff trained by a culinary school?

If word gets out that the food critic got a food borne illness from your restaurant it will be time for you to look for another job. Any restaurant that is that slack in their approach to food handling should be shut down until it comes back up to code.

Too many people get in the restaurant business because they think they are going to get rich and forget that there are a lot of standards and practices for them to learn, preferably NOT on the job, poisoning their client猫le.
Most critics understand that any restaurant can give someone food poisoning, even if they do nothing wrong. I wouldn't count on a good review, but I would expect the critic to take the circumstances into account.

If the restaurant undercooked the food or the chef didn't wash his hands, and the critic knows or suspects that, the review is going to be really, really bad.

Your manager is right to be worried, but I don't think this is going to destroy the business. If a restaurant critic gets food poisoning from a restaurant, is it the end for that restaurant?
If he got food poisoning, then obviously the food was bad! You can't expect a good report on food that was bad. What the guy could say is the service was excellent, the food tasted good, the staff were friendly but he may not want to point anyone else to eat there if they are going to possibly get food poisoning too. Find out what exactly was in the food he ate %26amp; correct it. Since sallmonella is going around in tomatoes did he eat anything with tomato base?

Maybe he would be willing to try again? Maybe what caused it was something he ate from breakfast or an earlier lunch?? %26amp; not you?
I mean, it's their job, so I don't know if you can really do anything about him printing anything about it. It's public domain, freedom of speech, etc. It may hurt the restaurant some, but it probably won't be the "end". There have been lots of cases of people getting food poisening from fast food places and such, and people still eat there. If a restaurant critic gets food poisoning from a restaurant, is it the end for that restaurant?
No food critics have absolutely no power to shut down a resturant. The only thing they do is give the public a review of the food in a resturant. The people who can though are health inspectors that can shut it down if there is a problem that is the resturants fault untill the problem gets fixed.
It depend on how and why he got it. If he got it due to like the tainted food that was distributed across your area or the country, then no. He would hold of his review until the matter has been cleared. Now if it were indeed your establishments fault, then health inspector may get involved more deeply. I have heard of it both ways. He could get a real nasty interview if after the investigation, it is shown it is the restaurants fault.
The Ministry of Health and food if they get the report ,,will close the place down,,,
yes the restraint will be shut down
