I want to take wife to a very nice restaurant, I need suggestions.?

So I was thinking about taking her to this restaurant http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Re鈥?/a> it is Paris and this restaurant is located inside the Eiffel tower, the price is no less than $600.00 for two, can anyone recommend something else, maybe price range of $400 or less? any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We will be in Paris from the 15th to the 19th of August.

Thank youI want to take wife to a very nice restaurant, I need suggestions.?
The one thing that goes on in Paris in July and August is the restaurants as it is the busiest tourist time of the year. Usually their closing period is in late January or February.

I am surprised at the prices you quote as I have seen that the lunch at the Jules Verne is priced at 鈧?5 Euros per person. Dinner obviously would be much more expensive.

In any case I very much fear that your chances of getting in at such short notice were almost nil due to its popularity.

It is generally the drinks that inflate the bill but if you buy a house wine rather than Champagne or a big name or vintage this costs far less and is perfectly acceptable wine. Bear in mind also that in France service and taxes are included in the bill by law so you do not have to tip.

Obviously at Jules Verne you pay for the view and the fact that the most illustrious chef in France has taken over its management but the first floor restaurant is cheaper and has excellent reviews. You still have an brilliant view at that level.

However Michelin lists a good selection of their highest rated restaurants on this site:

I have a soft spot for La Tour d'argent which is traditional and has lovely views over Notre Dame.

You might also like to investigate some of the restaurants on the following list which are rated elsewhere as being the best restaurants in Paris and see if some of them suit your price range and your tastes:

PS.You can also combine the Eiffel tower restaurant with a cruise or a show:

Good luck and enjoy your stay in Paris !
I am sure that someone will come up with a suggestions for a really nice restaurant (fro less than $400). However there is another problem, So many French businesses will be closed on the days in August you mention. The real touristy places like the Eiffel will be open. You might find some very good ethnic restaurants that are open. There is just wonderful restaurants from Morocco or from countries from the far east. Drinks especially liquors are extremely expensive and a few cocktails will run your bill up dramatically.I want to take wife to a very nice restaurant, I need suggestions.?
McDonald's would be the most special place ever in Paris! Play it up like it's the best restaurant in the country and slide on over for a Cheeseburger Deluxe [Big Mac in Paris]! She's never expect it! Biggest surprise ever!

Bon Apetit

Most of the Parisian good restaurants are closed during August.

You have two choices :

- Touristic restaurants like the

1) Jules Verne, which is really good, the chef is Alain Ducasse, one of the best French chefs but Ducasse is never present as he has many restaurants around the world- anyway, his team is just perfect.

2) La Tour d'Argent, it's renowned %26amp; expensive but not really good, marketing is great but not the food, the owner passed away some years ago and now as La Tour d'Argent is a Parisian institution, Michelin won't say any bad about it, lots of money %26amp; name to keep as tourists keep on going, some French who are not really aware of what's going on on the gastronomic area, will continue going there.

The best option, during August is to go to a Palace hotel restaurant, if possible for lunch as they have a special menu which cost under 100 euros while for dinner it would be around 300 euros per person plus wine. Till some years ago, Palace hotels restaurants had bad reputation as they used to bill expensive and food wasn't really that good but today, Palace hotels like the Bristol have fantastic restaurants.

Le Bristol hotel has one of the best French chefs, Eric Frechon, rated 3 stars Michelin. The Bristol is the meeting point for the Parisian %26amp; European high society, the French President goes there at least once a week. The clients don't go there because it's fashionable but because the restaurant is really good. They have a season menu which cost 85 euros per person, otherwise, around 300 euros per person. I think this would be the best choice as in August you really don't have much choice.

Otherwise the Plaza Ath茅n茅e Hotel has also great restaurants, the chef is Alain Ducasse, the main restaurant of the Plaza is closed during the summer but there's another restaurant that remains opened.

Other good restaurants opened during August :

The restaurants I mentioned are between the most renowned of Paris, there are others which, without being gastronomic ones, are quite good %26amp; typic but you have to check if they're opened (you can ask to your hotel receptionnist to do it) :

- la fermette Marbeuf. 5 rue marbeuf, 8e http://www.fermettemarbeuf.com/
- le moulin de la galette. 83 rue Lepic, 18e http://www.lemoulindelagalette.fr/
- moissonnier. 28 rue des fosses St. Bernard, 5e
http://www.tripadvisor.fr/Restaurant_Rev鈥?/a>
- chantairelle. 17 rue Laplace, 5e
- chez Denise. 5 rue prouvaires, 5e

For a light lunch or for tea, you can go to the coffee shop of Jacquemart Andre Museum, lovely place http://www.musee-jacquemart-andre.com/en鈥?/a>

Tea rooms :
- Mariage Fr猫res
- Angelina
- Ladur茅e
- Carette (Trocadero square, in front of the Eiffel tower) good quality, fashionable, great location.

Pastries :
- Pierre Herm茅 (best macarons of Paris, delicious chocolates %26amp; cakes, only to take away)

... check the clients reviews of other restaurants on tripadvisor, really a useful website to choose restaurants.
