If you run the website as a business - i.e. you file and pay taxes based on the money you MAKE from the website, then the costs of doing your reviews can be written off against the profits - but not more than that. If you make $1200 a year from the site, you can write off at most $1200 of expenses. If you don't make any money from the site, there is not profit to write off against. If the site isn't a business (it's just a hobby site), then you can't write off anything. If you have website that reviews things can you right their purchase off on taxes?
No.If you have website that reviews things can you right their purchase off on taxes?
If you are in the business. as a Critic and you review restaurants, video games, movies, etc. as your primary job. It would be considered as work related. But not if you bought them as a personal expense..
