I want to celebrate my 21st birthday in a restaurant with a great "party" atmosphere in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area. I read reviews if the Mai Kai restaurant and it looks great but a little pricey for me.

The restaurant is over priced and the food is merely okay. They do put on a show but the crowd is mostly older people. Save yourself the money and go with a couple of friends to brickell or South beach, there are a lot of bars and clubs that you could go to. (Blue Martini is pretty fun) Also Crazy Pianos in The Grove is a blast, you can eat and drink and if you want to go somewhere after you have plenty of options around the area. If not, you can also got to the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, you can go club hopping without having to drive around.
