La Parilla Suize located just north of the intersection of 35th Ave and Peoria. This is a Mexico City style restaurant not the typical Sonoran type restaurant in Phoenix. Their chicken and rice soup is terrific, especially if you squeeze two wedges of lime into the broth. Also, try the condiments they serve with their chips.
I lived in Phoenix for many years and there are some great Mexican food restaurants. Two of the best are Macayos and Aunt Chiladas.
Love Garduno's food and atmosphere!

One of the Best local Mexican restaurants in the entire Phoenix (Valley) area is Los Sombreros that's located on North Scottsdale Road just south of East Thomas Road. Huge portions, lots of choices and their Margaritas, chips and salsa are truly outstanding!

sorry. you'd think that by now, someone would have figured it out, cause it's NOT that difficult to cook mexican food, but alas, no one has ... yet.

You could try AZCentral.com, Serranos is one of my favorite places to eat, you can't beat the bean dip, and the chicken chimi's are yummy!
