Where is a great Italian restaurant in Kansas City?

We are going to take a little Christmas jaunt to Kansas City and finish Christmas shopping. We know where to shop, we just need to find an Italian restaurant to review. Thanks in advance!Where is a great Italian restaurant in Kansas City?
Our absolute favorite is Accurso's at 49th and Main, near the Plaza. They've been around for years and recently moved into a new, more modern location just a few blocks from the original. It's delicious and the service is always a treat.
Other favorites are Anthony's at 7th and Grand and Garozzo's (with several locations - but the best is in the original in the River Market area at 5th and Harrison). Both have a very, old Italian American feel.
Ooh, and I almost forgot - if you are going to make it over to the Kansas side, Tony's Villa Capri and 83rd and Metcalf is our neighborhood fave.Where is a great Italian restaurant in Kansas City?
You may get a lot of answers, but I personally like V's Italian Ristorante. It is actually on 40 Highway in Independence, Missouri, but this is a suburb of Kansas City. This restaurant has been around for over 40 years and their food is great. They have a huge selection of food from Antipasto, classic italian dishes, pasta, pizza, steaks. They have a lunch buffet during the week.

There is also Cascone's on North Oak in North Kansas City that a lot of people talk about, but I went there once and was not particularly impressed. I think V's is better.

There are a few italian restaurants in the area, like Zio's (a chain restaurant), but I think V's is the best in the area.Where is a great Italian restaurant in Kansas City?
If you want fairly authentic Italian food try Lidia's. It's Lidia Bastianich's KC restaurant. She has had a show on PBS and you may have seen her on Top Chef. She was one of the chef's who had their "last meal" made for them by the semi-finalists one year.



Be warned, if you are looking for spaghetti with tomato sauce and meatballs this may not be your place.
