I want to go to a sushi restuarant in the downtown Chicago area to celebrate my birthday in the next couple of weeks, only problem is I have NO IDEA where to go. The reviews I've been reading of various restaurants are leaving me more indecisive and confused than ever. The first and only time I've ever eaten sushi was in 2002 when I was in Columbia, Missouri for college and believe it or not the place was amazing and I fell in love with sushi from that moment on. I'd really like a restaurant that not only has great sushi but great entrees and atomosphere as well. This will not be a group celebration, just a romantic evening with my fiance. I'd appreciate all the help I can get because I plan to visit as many places as I can not just for my birthday but thereafter if I receive multiple recommendations. What is the Overall Best Sushi Restaurant in the Downtown Chicago Area?
By far Japonais (I think that's how it's spelled) Or Sushi Samba...Both DELICIOUS!!!! Trust me :) Other than that-check metromix. They have a rating on all their restaurants and user/critic reviews.
sushi samba rio
incredible sushi and many many asian-latin inspired entrees
awesome atmosphere for a birthdayWhat is the Overall Best Sushi Restaurant in the Downtown Chicago Area?
definately Sushi Samba!!!
You don't need to be entirely downtown do you? I ask this, because there is a fine Japanese restaurant at Clark and Diversey on the North Side "Kiyo's", which is rather trendy and has been there forever...
The actual Japanese community, 'albeit invisible', is mostly around Clark and Division, anything in between is probably pretty good. What is the Overall Best Sushi Restaurant in the Downtown Chicago Area?
My husband and I love Tamarind which is located at 614 S Wabash Ave. in Chicago (Phone: (312) 379-0970). The service is great, the atmosphere is dark and cool and the prices aren't bad.
Have a great birthday!
THERE ISN'T ONE THEY ALL SUCK. RAW FISH YOUR SICK
