I have found many through Google but they all seem to compete, and so are all rather incompleteIs there a dominant online restaurant review website for London?
I wouldn't say they compete - they can actually compliment each other as they're useful for different things.
I use www.london-eating.co.uk the most because it has a huge database of restaurants, including little local ones, and they have links to professional reviews (from newspapers, magazines, etc) and bloggers reviews on a lot of the popular restaurants so you can get a lot of opinions without skipping about all over the place. The special offers are good too.
toptable is my personal favourite for restaurant bookings, because it's easy to use, runs great special offers and you can collect points to use on a free meal or a cookery book.
What do you mean by 'incomplete'? If you mean missing restaurants, then you can email most of them and mention anywhere they've missed. london-eating are always happy to add anywhere they've overlooked.
i use www.london-eating.co.uk. i like it because it has user reviews and it seems to cover most restaurants in london. In general though if you want a reliable guide to eating out in london I recommend the Harden's london restaurant guide book. it is compiled from a combination of general public reviewers and the editor's opinion to collate the reviews. you can take part as a reviewer and then you get a free copy of the guide each year. i have found that to be the most reliable source overall. Is there a dominant online restaurant review website for London?
I agree with a few others - toptable is very good. Loads to choose from and plenty of reviews. I booked a table through them last week and they were very quick to respond and confirm.
Personally, I think this is the best:
http://www.squaremeal.co.uk/
I have used lots of sites, but this is based on member and site owner reviews and I have found them to be very accurate. Is there a dominant online restaurant review website for London?
Try this one:
http://www.verygoodservice.com/going_out鈥?/a>
which lists exclusively award winning restaurants in London
toptable or london eating are always good, though the best one I think is timeout.com/london/restaurants
I find TopTable.co.uk to be pretty good.

I can't remember how to do restaurant reviews that feed to my 360. I've done it a bunch of times, but forgot.
Search for the restaurant you're looking to review: http://local.yahoo.com/
Write the review. It will take a few days before it appears on your page since Yahoo has to approve the review.

Does anyone have any recent news articles or reviews on China AAA restaurant in Hayward CA?
I heard there were health code violations there, and I wanted to find out about it.Does anyone have any recent news articles or reviews on China AAA restaurant in Hayward CA?
Whoa, it looks like some answerers have a little repressed rage. There is a list of Chinese restaurants in the area below, and there is one called China AA Buffet.
There is one review out there that says it has a church potluck feeling, but one that says there were health code violations like rinsing noodles in a mop sink and leaving foods at the wrong temperature on the bar. Maybe best to steer clear. Chain restaurants like P.F. Chang's may lack individual personality, but are much less risky when it comes to health concerns.Does anyone have any recent news articles or reviews on China AAA restaurant in Hayward CA?
Any restaurants you find in Hayward will suck, just like the rest of the city, and just like you.

How many words should a restaurant review be for a hs newspaper?
i'd say an appropriate length would be about three paragraphs with 3-4 sentances each... hope i helped!
How long should a restaurant review be for a high school newspaper?
3 paragraphs.1 for intro and background,1 for food,and 1 more for service.

New York City Craft Restaurant reviews???
I am looking at making reservation to Craft in NY city. Has anyone been here and what do you think???New York City Craft Restaurant reviews???
Excellent restaurant. I prefer Craftbar around the corner - the food's just as good, if not better, and it's more relaxed and less expensive and they have an appetizer with octopus and chorizo that is divine. Both restaurants are top notch.
Have a wonderful time!

What restaurant should I eat at in downtown Chicago?
For my Chicago Literature class i have to go downtown and eat at a restaurant of my choice. When i come back to class I have to talk about it %26amp; give my restaurant review.
It can be anything, from a hot dog stand to an ice cream joint to a Chinese food restaurant in ChinaTown to and italian restaurant, but it CANNOT be a chain such as mc donalds, tgi fridays, etc.
so i need some advice! where should i go?
i dont want to go somewhere expensive! (ex - gejas)
thanks!!What restaurant should I eat at in downtown Chicago?
Heaven on Seven. Go to the original one 111 N. Wabash, across the street from Macy's. The Gumbo is great and a cheddar jalapeno corn muffin is the perfect thing to go with it.
My next choice for you would be The Italian Village. The restaurant on the second floor has some tables set into little alcoves so the dining is intimate and very private.
If you like BBQ the restaurant called Smoque is supposed to be fantastic.
If you want other ideas you might want to check out WTTW site and look at some of the places reviewed on Check Please.
Good luck. and have fun sounds like a great assignment.
I have been to Chicago many, many times, and all of the places i have been to, Pizzeria Duo was the best! One of their specialties is a pizza pie. It is baked in a pie tin, and the crust is really thick! Thee best pizza i have ever had! I cant remember where it is, but i'm sure you can google it on google maps though. What restaurant should I eat at in downtown Chicago?

Are websites that provide service reviews legal?
For instance: a website that allows users to submit restaurant reviews... people could rate the restaurant poorly or good.. however this rating could affect the restaurants patronage.. Would this be a legal website or would you be sitting yourself up to be sued? Are websites that provide service reviews legal?
These websites are completely legal, although there is a possibility of a restaurant owner creating their own website and giving their restaurant an unfair advantage...cheesecake factory locations

How can I come with questions for a food and restaurant review?
I am doing a piece/story about a local sports bar. It offers nice local and exotic dishes and it is cheap, but classy. I am a young writer for a magazine and I really need to impress my editor. How can I come up with questions that will help write a good story for the readers as well as the editor? How can I come with questions for a food and restaurant review?
Read other restaurant reviews and you will notice how they describe the dishes, often using some of the ingredients and they also describe the decor and ambiance. That comes from your opinion or asking other customers. You speak to customers after they leave the restaurant, you do not interrupt their dinner. Another good way to find questions, is to watch News shows that have Chefs or reporters that go to restaurants and interview the chef/owners. In the USA all the major morning and most early evening News shows have a reporters/restaurant critics that do this. If you wish to interview the chef or owner, either make and appointment or visit the restaurant on off hours when they are not busy. How can I come with questions for a food and restaurant review?
As a question start with....What has been in your mouth lately

When writing a restaurant review, do you need to seek permission from the establishment?
if your piece is going to be published? When writing a restaurant review, do you need to seek permission from the establishment?
i think if you're writing a review, you don't need "permission." but if you're writing about the establishment, say a feature on their menu or the star chef, that's when you ask for permission so you'll get access to their lit, photos, kitchen, and do the necessary interviews to do your article.
You should always inform the restaurant that you are writing a review (you can do this after you write it but ALWAYS before it is published). In not doing so, it will look unprofessional and you may NEVER be welcome in that establishment again! There is a certain liability attached to this sort of thing. When writing a restaurant review, do you need to seek permission from the establishment?
If you got permisssion this would ruin your ability to review honestly
No, you have the freedom to express what you want, and say what you want. When writing a restaurant review, do you need to seek permission from the establishment?
I thought that was the point, so you can review without them knowing so you get an accurate view of the establishment.

Is it okay for me to link to a restaurant that I'm review in my blog?
I'm starting a new blog to review restaurants. Would it be kosher if I linked to the restaurant's website as a quick link/the menu as well?
Thanks! Is it okay for me to link to a restaurant that I'm review in my blog?
There are two points of view from which I will examine your question: a business point of view and a journalistic point of view.
Providing a link to the restaurant you review would give readers additional information about the restaurant in terms of hours of operation, location and contact information. You could also include that information in your blog, therefore skipping the necessity of adding the link to the restaurant.
Some might consider providing a link to the restaurant that you review a form of advertising. You must ask yourself if you could objectively review the restaurant that you seem to be promoting through the addition of the link.
But at the heart of your question is the purpose of the Internet. The World Wide Web is largely an open-source platform where information is shared and credit is given where credit is due.
Therefore, you might consider adding a link to the restaurant and asking the restaurant to add a link to your website in the interest of promoting fair exchange. By doing this, you might increase traffic to your website and in turn, to theirs. This would be a win-win, from a business standpoint.
But what is the purpose of your blog?
To consider the question from a journalistic standpoint, ask this question: what is your obligation to your readers? Is it to provide them with a fair and honest appraisal of the establishment? How would readers perceive your action of placing a link to the restaurant if the food was less than superlative?
Should you not choose to add a link to the restaurant, you are free, presumably, to review the restaurant objectively, or honestly and fairly.
From a journalistic perspective, should you include a link to the restaurant that you review, the perception by the general public might be that your review, and subsequent reviews of other restaurants, will only cover the positives about the eatery and not the negatives.
So, the answer to your question all depends upon your intent regarding your blog.
Good luck with your blog and have fun!

My wife and I went there a few years ago and are still talking about the meal. A very small hole in the wall in with a loyal and diverse clientel. We were recently watching the "Best Food in America" special on the Food Netword and the House of Nan King was listed in the top 5 in the U.S.- ****

Can you help me with my restaurant review?
The Review should include:
Paragraph 1: Introduction: name and type of restaurant + where situated; your overall opinion of it
Paragraph 2: Particular dishes the resttaurant servers + your opinion; the decor, service, etc.
Paragraph 3: Things you particularly like+ price(s)
Paragraph 4: A general recommendation
PLEASE HELP :)Can you help me with my restaurant review?
How can we help you write a review when we didn't eat at the restaurant with you.
The outline is basic. Follow the outline and the article will write itself.
#1 - I recently had lunch at the BigASS Burger Grille on Hudson Street in Aurora and it was everything that I expected. blah blah blah......
#2 - This places is your typical greasy spoon diner serving up baskets full of grilled burgers, fries and local favorites like the Ground Weasel in a bun made famous on the strip in the 50's. It's decorated like a 50s style truck stop, the service is perfect and the waitresses are all smiling and happy to serve you.
#3 - I dug the Basset on a Bun (hot dog) with chili, onions and ham. It was served with the greasiest onion rings I ever ate but they were also the most tasteful thing I have had in a long time. The price was right too, $3.95 plus tip.
#4 - Do not go to the BigASS Burger Grille expecting a diet plate and salads on the menu, you can get that at the Twigs and Leaves Bistro next door, but if you are looking for a diner style restaurant with big plates of good food you've come to the right place.
See I did that in 5 minutes and I didn't even need any facts. Just followed the outline. Can you help me with my restaurant review?
what can you expect these days? Me llamo Julio son of Alizeandro. I came to trade my hard earned gold plated coins in for some edibales at the local temple, but alas no one when hunting.
name Hempshies 69 fest
type: serving dishes of water and warmed water.with grass in it.
my opinion very primitative
i particularly like the price of 1 american penny for cold bowl of water.

WDW restaurant reviews: how is THE WAVE in the contemporary?
half my family loves chef mickey's and the other half is so-so about it. so this year we decided to send the other half to a different restaurant.
it will be myself, my one sister, my 12yr old niece, my 10yr old nephew, and my 3yr old niece going to chef mickey's and that leaves my parents and my other sister and brother in law (the parents of the 10 and 3yr old). we were looking into a few restaurants for them but thought the wave would be nice cuz then we can all go to the contemporary together and then split up and that way my 3yr old niece should feel more comfortable cuz mommy is in the same building. (not that she doesn't feel comfortable with the rest of us cuz we are a tight knit family but she does have a tendency to become a mommy's girl out of nowhere).
so i'd like your opinions about the wave restaurant since none of us have been there.WDW restaurant reviews: how is THE WAVE in the contemporary?
Funny you should ask. I was actually just at THE WAVE last night with my parents. Its a very adult contempary restaurant. I wish I was on the Dining Plan though because the prices gave me a minor heartattack. However, our server was awesome. He went well above and beyond our expectations. THe food however was really good but just not as good as the prices dictate.
I think its a really great date night restaurant but its a little too fancy for kids.WDW restaurant reviews: how is THE WAVE in the contemporary?
Great food, and it's absolutely beautiful inside. Some of the best dessert I had on property. I recall we ordered the sugar free dessert and the gelato sampler. However, when I look at the flavors of gelato on the menus right now, those are not what we had, but looks good none the less.

My restaurant's listing on google maps is linked to 4 reviews which are all NEGATIVE, how do i delete?
dine.com won't help at all. whether my place stinks or not is subjective but i dont want these reviews to be tied to my google maps listing. trying to communicate with google is about as easy as talking to president bush.My restaurant's listing on google maps is linked to 4 reviews which are all NEGATIVE, how do i delete?
You can't delete someone's opinion, but who ties the ratings to the google maps ? Its going to be hard to get them off if you have to contact google, you need to send them an email, or try and write a review yourself on the same site they did and see if you can put it on there. The web is a tricky thing !My restaurant's listing on google maps is linked to 4 reviews which are all NEGATIVE, how do i delete?
You can't delete them. Instead of posting a review yourself ask some of your regular patrons to write a review for you. This way people going to Google (which I never use because I hate Google), will see good reviews along with the bad.resident evil 5 cheats

The Stage Review
"Never again" or "Where to ruin your evening"

And now seriously. I would use "Heaven's gate". It's quite deep idea. Like you will come into the restaurant, have a meal and you feel such as in the heaven. So if you want to go to the heaven, you can simply pop up to the restaurant :)

Why does Yahoo refuse to post negative restaurant review when one adheres to posted standards?
It has happened more than once. Now I am inclined to totally disregard them. Worse yet for Yahoo, I am inclined to disregard all reviews on the website for merchants and hotels. Why does Yahoo refuse to post negative restaurant review when one adheres to posted standards?
Yahoo will post Restaurant Reviews in the yahoo food section, which you can access from the main page. As you are aware, you can't slander, or use profanity, just state you opinion and back it up with your experience that lead you to believe what you believe. It also takes them sometimes up to 3 days before the reviews are posted. I utilize the restaurant reviews quite often, and hope that Yahoo hasn't changed their policy on posting bad reviews, because let's face it, sometimes restaurants need bad reviews. Why does Yahoo refuse to post negative restaurant review when one adheres to posted standards?
Because this isn't a restaurant review site, Einstein. It's a question-and-answer site. Pay attention. Why does Yahoo refuse to post negative restaurant review when one adheres to posted standards?

Oahu restaurant reviews and other suggestions (ones you've tried recently please)?
Going next week and I've picked up several ideas from this board and other places. I'd like to know if anyone has been to any of the following recently (say the last 6-9 months) and IF/WHY you did or did not like it (specifics please...cleanliness, service, value, taste). If you had others to add, please feel free. We will be all over the island so location doesn't matter as long as it is Oahu and any type of food in any price range is also fine. Just looking for some of the best food in Oahu.

My favorite place to eat when we are in Oahu is Duke's in the Outrigger hotel in Waikiki. The restaurant has a great view of the beach and is a lovely place to eat day or night. The salad bar is great and the fish is always fresh and delicious. My favorite by far is the cashew chicken that you can get off the bar menu. It is the thing I look forward to the most!

Try Cheeseburger's in Paradise! It's outstanding. Also try The Cheesecake Factory, simply great. A word of advise though to the vacationer....everything taste great in Hawaii!! Last word of caution...be careful not to leave anything behind in the taxis (cameras, glasses, etc), because you can consider them LOST. We lost our camera with phenominal pics and probably will never get it back!!

I'm willing to pay a little extra, if necessary, for something that is both reliable and simple (simple as in easy to build the webpage that I'd like). I'd prefer a site that handled the domain name, web hosting and e-mail account(s). I appreciate any advice. What is the best site to find Job Reviews (where folks rate their employers)?
What is the best site to find job reviews? I will be moving this coming Spring and I want to find a GOOD site that allows employees to rate their places of employment. My goal is to find a job I want to stay in for a while and I was hoping to see a few reviews of the companies represented in the area. What does the $$ stand for in restaurant pricing guides?
I know I have seen this somewhere, and I know I should be able to find it on Google, but I'm not having any luck. I'm reading restaurant reviews and things to decide on a new place to go, and some are $$, some $$$ or $$$$. What does each dollar sign stand for? I was thinking it was $10 per sign, is that accurate? What does the $$ stand for in restaurant pricing guides?
it can mean two things.... either to indicate how expensive dishes are on a menu or to indicate how cheap or inexpensive a restaurant in general is...
For example, it means this when actually referring to menu prices:
$- Under $15
$$- $15-$25
$$$- $25-$40
$$$$- $40 and up
Or it can mean the following when referring to restaurants:
$- cheap/inexpensive
$$- moderately priced
$$$- expensive
$$$$- very expensive/ high priced
the more of $ you see, the more expensive it is... (one $ does NOT mean 10 dollars..)What does the $$ stand for in restaurant pricing guides?
1 "$" does have to equal a certain amount it is just that the more $'s the more expensive!
$=cheap $$$$=expensiveWhat does the $$ stand for in restaurant pricing guides?
It really depends on the pricing guide. It generally refers to the average cost of a meal, including salad and dessert. The more $ the higher the price, but there is no set dollar amount that each $ represents. Different guides use different scales.
it can mean two things.... either to indicate how expensive dishes are on a menu or to indicate how cheap or inexpensive a restaurant in general is...

When I want to review a restaurant I first phone them for their website. Most starred restaurants have websites and a section where you can review them. I like this because if it's a new restaurant to me I can review the comments of previous patrons before I make a decision to go there.

What's the difference between making reservations for a restaurant and the concept of "Call Ahead Seating"?
Sometimes on restaurant reviews there are comments about "Reservations" and Call Ahead "Seating". Sometimes a place can have one and not the other.
What's the real difference? What's the difference between making reservations for a restaurant and the concept of "Call Ahead Seating"?
A reservation is when you call and have a table set aside for you.
Call-ahead seating is when you call before you leave for the restaurant and put your name on the waiting list, or inquire as to whether you'd be able to be seated if you came.
In other words, a reservation is (ideally) a sure thing; call-ahead seating just increases the chances that you'll be seated faster, or, if the line isn't long, confirms that you'd be able to get seated when you arrive. What's the difference between making reservations for a restaurant and the concept of "Call Ahead Seating"?
You can reserve a specific table (e.g by the stage), but call ahead would seat you anyplace in the establishment.coming soon to dvd

How do i become!? a food critic, restaurant reviewer?
i am currently writing restaurant reviews in my local area, but have no qualifications or expereince. I'm planning on sending my reviews off to the various publications through out the UK and hoping someone will commision me to write for them.
any tips ?How do i become!? a food critic, restaurant reviewer?
prove you know what your talking about , you have to be willing to eat some things people would consider disgusting also + you have to be unbiased about these foods . that's very hard to do . would you eat mountain oysters w/o being biased ? you cannot be a good critic unless you can be totally impartial . some qualifications would be a plusHow do i become!? a food critic, restaurant reviewer?
I do not know this answer 100% and would recommend doing some google research.
However, I am sure you need some food background. YOu need to have a mature palette and a vast knowledge of food. How do i become!? a food critic, restaurant reviewer?
The best I can advise is to show them that you are very passionate in a cover letter when you summit your articles...
Be fair, interesting to the readers... Oh tell them you do it on a trail bases, to see if the readers like your articles....
Be resilient and don't give up.... Keep writing on the Internet, Build a following ...
start by getting a journalism degree. it's tough to get that job. it's the most sought after job at the newspaper. you get to eat at good restaurants for free and they treat you like a king because they want a good review. so basically it takes good luck and timing.

What makes you want to try a new restaurant?
What is the most important factor that influences you to try a new restaurant, written restaurant reviews, paid advertising by the restaurant, word of mouth from friends %26amp; family, online travel or dining guides like trip adviser or is it simply the restaurants' proximity to your home or work or something else? What makes you want to try a new restaurant?
First I look at the menu to see if what they offer sounds appealing to me. If their dishes are so esoterically named I can't figure out what they are, forget it. I also check to see what the prices are like and whether I think the food will be worth it. I then check restaurant reviews (not the paid critics but the local regular folks like me) to see what they have to say. I keep in mind the type of food being offered and the type of people reviewing (a whole lot of people can't tell good sushi from ok sushi, for instance, and they think that just because they get a lot of sushi or those horrible multi-fish sushi rolls it automatically makes it good--wrong!). If it's a neighborhood place, I try to drop in during the day (if they are open during the day) to get some take-out--if the take-out is good then you know the in-house is going to be really good. As far as Chinese restaurants go though, I will take a chance on some based solely on the menu they leave at my door and whether they do delivery--and once I find a place that provides good food delivered to me, I stick with it until they start doing not so good food or start getting the order wrong too many times, etc.
It depends. If its a restaurant that looks nice on the outside, Iwould want to try it but if its too fancy I probably wouldnt (as a college student, im quite broke). So I guess it has to do wiht price and looks of it. also the food that they serve obviously plays a big part, tooWhat makes you want to try a new restaurant?
i just saw a restaurant yesterday the reason i wanted to go in is b/c it looked appealing from the outside. Word of advice if owning a restaurant make sure the name on the sign is READIBLe b/c i couldn't read the sign from a distance to look it up when i got home.
Usually I'm walking around and I see a place with an interesting menu, nice prices and with a good number of people inside to see if it's popular or not. What makes you want to try a new restaurant?
Usually just word of mouth- if I hear from a friend that its good, I'm usually more apt to try it myself.
I guess if it's Italian, Chinese or Mexican and close to my house then I'll try it.
I usually end up eating out last minute. So I tend to eat out close to home.

Where can i find a good, affordable chinese restaurant in the west end?
I'm looking for a decent chinese restaurant that won't cost a fortune. In or around leicester square would be best. If you have any advice or know where i can get some good restaurant reviews that would be great.Where can i find a good, affordable chinese restaurant in the west end?
Ping pong tong is good
Poons, up the little side road next to 'Sound' on the right hand side.Where can i find a good, affordable chinese restaurant in the west end?
china town is full of them, but to be sure - and maybe get a deal go to www.toptable (not sure of .com/.co.uk) website and enter your details and they'll give you a list and you can see the reviews too.
There's one on knightsbridge, i forget what its called, The best one! ...if you dont mind spending a little extra!Where can i find a good, affordable chinese restaurant in the west end?
Wong Keys. (This is not a joke) It's just up from Leicester Sq in Wardor st. The waiters are the rudest ever, you sometimes have to share a table, which can be nice. It's not to expensive and the food is fantastic.
Ping pong tong
Absolutely - Wong Kei in Wardour Street. If you stand with your back to the entrance to McDonald's in Leicester Square there is a side street across the square from you. You will see a clock that sticks out sideways from the wall on the left hand side of that side street some way down. It is there. The food is fabulous and authentic.
theres one special one I love in chinatown, it has stairs that go up at the entrance, I'm not sure what its called but its at the shaftesbury ave end, it does the most amazing sweet %26amp; sour king prawn
There are lots of Chinese restaurants in the area north of Leicester Square known as China Town. My favourite Chinese restaurant is the New World in Gerard Place, off Shaftsbury Avenue. It specialises in Dim Sum cuisine
For the uninitiated Dim Sum is a style of dining in certain Chinese restaurants. trolleys roam around the room containing a variety of dishs ranging from little white steamed buns containing barbecued meat to braised chickens feet. You can get steamed prawns and little parcels of sticky rice. Its usually a cheap way to dine particularly if you share dishs. Dim Sum is normally served in the day before 6pm.
wimpy there the best ( joke)
wing wan yoo r the best %26amp; the ladys r fit 2
Any of the restaurants in Gerrard Street. Or you could try Mr Woo's in Leicester Square.
Most of the restaurants are good. Try C%26amp;R at the side street, IIRC the street is called rupert court
St Martins Lane - Chi - all you can eat veg chinese buffet

Help! Need restaurant reviews?
Hi all, I have a question. I am creating an online restaurant rating blog ( I haven't created it yet because I want to have some reviews to put on it when i create one) and I wanted your advice on great restaurants or bad restaurants, whether it be great/bad food or great/bad service. All reviews are welcome. If you decide to answer this question, don't forget to include the city and state and the name of the restaurant, be as detailed as possible. All help will be greatly appreciated because it will save many people the trouble or benefit of experiencing the same thing you did. Thank you for your time!Help! Need restaurant reviews?
There is a local chain of restaurants called "Casa Mia" in the Olympia, WA area. I believe there are 6 restaurants in all, I have eaten at 3 of them. These are fantastic restaurants, they have nationally acclaimed pizza recipes and homemade sauces. Their prices are affordable and their food is always of great quality. They're versatile restaurants, good for a first date or family dinner.

I have worked for the same restaurant for the last two years and have received excellent reviews on my?
performance from my supervisor. I would like to ask for a raise but am confused as to what percentage would be a suitable jump in pay. I am a busboy at this restaurant. What do you think would be suitable?I have worked for the same restaurant for the last two years and have received excellent reviews on my?
A 5-10% raise is usually the average raise a person wants.
you usually receive raises when you are evaluated. asking for a raise can get you firedI have worked for the same restaurant for the last two years and have received excellent reviews on my?
Look in the phone book and call around to other restaurants in the area who have bus boys and ask them what they pay an hour. Compare it to your pay and ask for a raise to meet the highest one you find.
I think it should be left up to your supervisor.
But if your going to ask for a raise, make sure you bring up how you helped the restaurant to make money. ie by being so good at your work, be specific. and then ask if it's possible to have an increase in your wage. wait and see what's offerred. it's better to get what's offerred than to ask for a specific amount and be turned down, unless you have another job offer.I have worked for the same restaurant for the last two years and have received excellent reviews on my?
Is there a chance you could discuss it with other staff members and ask what percentage they successfully negotiated?.......if not, and you have a contract with your employer it may be written in fine print somewhere as to negotiations on levels of pay on performance........Other than that, place yourself in their position, weigh up what you think your performance may be worth in customer relations and profit, then ask for what is due to you.......(usually 10 to 15 percent here)........hope this helps some and doesnt confuse you more.....................
Sad to say, but busboys are less than a dime a dozen. I would never pay one over the minimum. Why bother when it's no trouble to find another?
Now, what you want to ask your supervisor about is higher paying jobs in the restaurant you can try for. That's how you get more money. Good luck!
I don't think you will have much luck asking for a raise. Some places give raises with the performance evaluations. You don't have to ask. Also if it is more money you want don't they have other jobs you can apply for. Like work your way up in the restaurant. After you have had experience in everything you should be able to be assistant manager. You might have to take a few classes but it would be worth it.

Restaurant reviews, and vouchers?
My moms friend when she lived in Florida found these things on the internet and they'd give her a food voucher to go and eat at that restaurant and then review the restaurant online. But as I look for them, I honestly cant find a legit one, anyone want to help out with finding a legit site? Thanks so much.Restaurant reviews, and vouchers?
Restaurant.com is kind of similar (you don't have to review the restaurant) but they sell 10 dollar gift certificates for 5 dollars and 25 dollar figt certificates for 10-15 dollars. However you should never have to pay the full price for these try retailmenot.com and type in restaurant.com to get a promo code from them to put in at checkout like right now if you type in the promo box "JOY" it will get you 80% off so that's a 1 dollar for 10 dollar gift certificates and 2 dollars for 25 dollar gift certificates. They also let you pay through paypal.com to ensure that they don't get your bank card information, but I've never had a problem with them. The only catch is that some of the restaurants require a minimum purchase so read the fine print for the specific restaurant you want to buy them for, it's great!utah weather

Writing restaurant reviews?
What is required when you write a restaurant review? I am starting to cover local restaurants for the school newspaper, but have no idea what I should include in the article. I figure address, hours, price range, but is there anything else I should know? Thanks!Writing restaurant reviews?
Write about the entire experience. Start with where you dined, when, decor, price range, type of of food, how the service was, how the food was and if you felt it was a good value, if you would recommendthe establishment, is it more for couples, families, singles do they have a bar, how the atmosphere is, is there music, things that make the experience positive and hopefully not negative. Be sure if you do encounter negative things to give the management a chance to resolve and be sure to include the resolution.Writing restaurant reviews?
Write about your experience. How was the service? How was the food? Was the restaurant clean? How busy was it? How was the menu? If possible, interview the owner and/or chef about their backgrounds.

Reviews for the restaurant named "Susie's Drive-In" in Chicago,IL?
Hey, I saw this restaurant named Susie's Drive-in in Chicago and I have to say it looks good. But I saw some other reviews saying it's bad and the customer service is terrible. But I guess I need more opinions to see if it's worth it.
So, anybody who has eaten at Susie's, is it worth going to or not?
Thanks.Reviews for the restaurant named "Susie's Drive-In" in Chicago,IL?

Is it illegal to write reviews about your own restaurant?
What do you call it when someone writes a fake review? Is there a term for this kind of action? Is it illegal to write reviews about your own restaurant?
A commercial.
it is called manipulation and lying. Reviews are written by unbiased 3rd persons, that is the entire point of them. It could fall into deceptive advertising. Is it illegal to write reviews about your own restaurant?
It's not illegal, but it's very unprofessional. If people found this out the restaurant did make a review about itselft, it would get a bad reputation and loose more customers than you would've gained from making the review
Reviews are supposed to be written by someone who is unbiased. So, by defintiion, whatever your write cannot be passed off as a review. If you are caught little will probably happen except you will lose your customer base. Why not do what others do - advertise????Is it illegal to write reviews about your own restaurant?
hypocrite ;)
It's called "what every single restaurant owner already does." It's mildly unethical, but if you're talking about internet review sites you're not going to get anybody wound up enough to care to make any real difference. I'm sorry to burst the bubble of all the bright-eyed internet idealists, but there you have it.dickey s bbq

How do you judge a restaurant review blog?
i have started a blog and im doing it on restaurant reviews. like me and my partner will go out and find most interesting or coolest restaurants and review them. im wondering what are things you wish you saw more of in a restaurant review or what i should have for sure. thanks for helpHow do you judge a restaurant review blog?
The best thing you can you as a reviewer is to be as accurate and descriptive as possible with the food, service, and atmosphere of the restaurant. The more accurate you are, the more seriously your audience will take your reviews. And that's what you're after. You want to become THE source for restaurant reviews.
And it's not that hard to do.
Before you go first create an outline for yourself and partner for the different aspects of dining out. For example, wait staff--were you approached in a timely manner, drink glasses remain full, menu items explained to your satisfaction, etc
Atmosphere-Describe the best you can. Paint as clear a picture as you can for your audience. Let them know what they're in for.
Food--Tell what you ate, cost, describe flavors, presentation, everything.
Be thorough with your outline ahead of time, then when you get to the restaurant you can focus on what's to be included in the review instead of wondering if you forgot anything.
Another thing---Be observant. Pay attention to everything. Any little details that you notice can be used in your review and will help elevate your status.
If you're having trouble with what to look for, apply as a mystery shopper for restaurants. They receive an outline like I've spoken of above. Heck, become a restaurant mystery shopper, get paid to eat, and then take your experience and put it on your blog! Take about having your cake and eat it to!!!
Good Luck. Let me know what the name of your restaurant blog is.How do you judge a restaurant review blog?
Here are some suggestions:
- Good descriptions to get a better idea about the place.
- I don't think that you need to sample every single dish on the menu, but most people are looking for reviews that include a sampling of several dishes.
- Comments on service: rude, friendly, snobs, knowledgeable, etc.
- Tips on what to look for at the place, or something unique that people should not overlook.
- Pictures of the food and place, if you want to do that. But might affect how you get treated at some restaurants because they might figure out that they're being reviewed.
- I like reviews that are for the most part simple to read and honest.
- If you allow comments in your blog, don't get upset if some people don't like your review. Ignore them.
Have fun!

How should I go about writing a restaurant review for class?
I have to write a restaurant review for my college writing class. Has to be about 1 1/2 pages (double spaced I presume). I went to the restaurant, and I took down notes and made sure to answer questions such as "reservations? cuisine? price range? wine list? etc.". But the problem I'm having is what tone or style I should use to write a restaurant review.
Should it be like a story? Or like a descriptional piece? I know restaurant reviews are meant to be a little more "fun" than conventional essays, but where do i draw the line? How should I go about writing a restaurant review for class?
Oh finally I can tell a writer how to write a review for a restaurant.LOL
Make it fun and emphasize the food as well as the service. the food can be great, but if the service is bad it can ruin the whole experience. Make it descriptive, ambiance, service, food, time in between courses, and most of all what were the people around you doing, having fun, quite, loud, music playing. Put Humphrey Bogart from Casablanca in mind, if it fits. Or something like it. Let go and make it entertaining, but not long. How should I go about writing a restaurant review for class?
Writing is easy.
Did you notice any line when you went in? That could be useful. Was the place crowded? Were there enough servers? were they polite? Did you see anything unusual in the menu? What did the place look and smell like. (Use all five senses in your report somewhere) Did you hear anyone comment about the food while you were eating? Were there kids there, how did they act? There are thousands of other observances you could use.
Tell the story like you were talking to a friend.

Has anyone been to the Olive restaurant at the Bellagio in las vegas? Reviews?
Ok, so i am going to Vegas, and was looking at restaurants. The Olive restaurant at the Bellagio looks nice,or so online.Does anyone have any reviews on the types of food or the prices and the general atmosphere in this place? Any info would be greatly appreciated.Has anyone been to the Olive restaurant at the Bellagio in las vegas? Reviews?
I live in Vegas, and everytime my mom and aunt come to visit...they always want me to take them to Olives. The atmosphere is really kind of modern/casual/hip. The bartenders and servers are really cool...they don't try to sell you all kinds of extra crap and they are really chill, just like you are talking to a friend who works at a local restaurant...not a tourist trap in Vegas. The food is great...it's italian and mediteranean. All their pastas are made in house...the Chesnut Ravioli is out of this world. The steaks and desserts are great too. Very generous with the cocktails and wine as well.
I think you will really like it if you decide to go, but make sure you call for a reservation, because they can get pretty busy!
I would say that you should plan to spend anywhere from $45 to $70 per person to really get the most out of Olives and to get a good variety of tastes from their menu.Has anyone been to the Olive restaurant at the Bellagio in las vegas? Reviews?
I have not been to the one in Vegas but I have been to the one in Aspen. The food is good. It is meditteranean style- fish, etc. You get an olive tampenade with your bread instead of butter. The smores dessert was to die for.
I know the one at Bellagio overlooks the water there and I had reservations but cancelled them for some reason. If it as good as the one in CO then I would say it is a safe bet.
It is about $60 per person depending on what you get. Obviously you can go higher with booze, apps, salad, dessert. You may be able to get off cheaper but the general price for an entree is about 30-40.

How do I delete bad reviews for a restaurant on a website?
I am the new manager of a restaurant and the reviews about us on websites are terrible. Is there a way to delete the reviews and start all over. They are mainly on citysearch and yellowpages. When people google the website to get our information, the bad reviews are the first thing they see. Please help!!How do I delete bad reviews for a restaurant on a website?
The odds of getting negative reviews removed is pretty close to zero.. That's the point of review sites, people get to say what they want and the business owner can't control the conversation..
Were the negative reviews valid complaints? If so, have you addressed the reasons for the negatives? If yes, then a simple reply to the review apologizing for the issue and an explanation of what has been done to resolve the issue going forward is the best thing you can do..How do I delete bad reviews for a restaurant on a website?
Contact Citysearch and Yellowpages via their websites or phone and see if they can remove them. Otherwise the best thing to do is give good service and quality, and encourage your patrons to give you reviews, so that eventually the good reviews outweigh the bad ones.
P.S. Make sure you check all sites that have reviews; other popular ones are Yelp.com and Google Places. I've heard that some of these sites will let you pay to have bad reviews removed. As a restaurant patron I don't think that's ethical, but whatever!

P.S. Make sure you check all sites that have reviews; other popular ones are Yelp.com and Google Places. I've heard that some of these sites will let you pay to have bad reviews removed. As a restaurant patron I don't think that's ethical, but whatever!

Where can I find restaurant reviews for London, online and pro?
Hi, I'm basically looking for a guide similar to toptable.co.uk but with most restaurants listed. Basically, toptable ratings are a nice idea but only a tiny % of restaurants in london are taking part, and a lot of the results are tweaked by either too few reviews or inexperience food goers that give 10/10 to average restaurants.
My question: where can I find an extensive listing of reviewed restaurants, preferably by professionals. I don't mind if it cost money to access it.Where can I find restaurant reviews for London, online and pro?

TrustedPlaces is also good if you want to add your own reviews

I am trying to come up with a unique name to do restaurant reviews?
I want to remain annonomous to my family and friends. I am planning on reviewing restaruants and little local places in my area. ie: yogurt shop, drink and icecream shops, restaurants, mom and pop places.
I was considering something like; TheUnknownEater??? Boring. I need to come up with a "catchy phrase" so that it will become memorable.I am trying to come up with a unique name to do restaurant reviews?

Sounds like incognito. It plays off the idea of being anonymous while eating and reviewing.I am trying to come up with a unique name to do restaurant reviews?

Do people that do restaurant reviews on yelp get paid?
Hi everyone,
I noticed that people on Facebook are always posting reviews on restaurants. The are very diligent and do reviews several times a day . Do they get paid from yelp or points ??? I don't understand why they are constantly doing reviews. Have a great 4th! Thanks, ruthieDo people that do restaurant reviews on yelp get paid?
I review on Yelp for the same reason I answer questions on Yahoo. I like helping people. Plus I read Yelp reviews before trying somewhere new, so I should give back.
Never heard of such a thing. Sometimes if you check in there you get coupons like half off an entree but usually ppl give bad reviews if they're pissed or good reviews if they liked it.Do people that do restaurant reviews on yelp get paid?

Do restaurant reviews really affect where you go to eat?
My mom said she read a local restaurant review and it did horrible. Ive been there and I like it and that review means nothing to me. Also I would give a new restaurant a chance too even if the review was bad. How about you?
This kinda goes along with this question but do advertisements for products you already know exist (like pepsi for example) make you buy the product anymore?Do restaurant reviews really affect where you go to eat?
i can't read.
Only Sometimes...I usually like to judge the restaurant for myself and come to my own conclusions...Do restaurant reviews really affect where you go to eat?
Reviews don't affect anything of mine.
Advertisements only affect me negatively. If the commercial for the product is super loud to try to "get my attention", I put it on my list of things NOT to buy.
No, I don't read the reviews.
And no. I buy the product at the same rate as I usually do.Do restaurant reviews really affect where you go to eat?

How many of you guys actually read and believe restaurant reviews?
If it's bad do you still give the restaurant a try? one really bad review out of many good/moderate ones which ones do you believe the good or bad? How many of you avidly review on sites like Yelp and why do you do it?How many of you guys actually read and believe restaurant reviews?
I never rely on reviews. I either go to places that friends or family suggests or just by chance walking by a quaint restaurant and walk in without a reservation. I like to frequent Mom and Pop restaurants. It seems the food is always tastier and the atmosphere is friendlier. How many of you guys actually read and believe restaurant reviews?
I do read reviews, but you really do have to keep a look out for fake reviews. There are a lot of restaurant owners and family members who work for them just intentionality give good reviews on them. It could happen both ways though. It could be some either trying to help the restaurant, or someone saying bad things to distract people from that competitor restaurant. It happens like this on all reviews you read on the internet. If it means business and making money, people will say and do anything to attract people to eat at their restaurant or buy their products.
I heard that it's always best to look for 3-4 star ratings, rather than 1 or full 5 star ratings. 3-4 star ratings give you both pros and cons of what restaurant you're going to, and less likely to be owners who want to just attract you or make you stay away. How many of you guys actually read and believe restaurant reviews?
Never. Most of those people who give restaurants bad reviews are either picky eaters, or they are competing restaurants trying to give their competitors bad reviews.
I read them but for me I still give them a try everyone has their own opinion on everything so you will never really know till you try it yourself but I've just recently only go to high class 5 star places

How do I go about getting into restaurant reviews?
I always thought it would be cool to go eat out at a company's expense just for writing a review on the restaurant? Does anyone know how to get involved in doing that? Ive searched for it on the internet and cant really find anything. How do I go about getting into restaurant reviews?
Approach a newspaper that does not have a restaurant review and say that you like food and would like the job.How do I go about getting into restaurant reviews?
well you would probably need a degree in journalism, and extensive food and wine knowledge. many are former chefs, sommeliers, restaurant owners. you have to be able to know what each classic dish is supposed to taste like, you would need a good palate and be able to discern different tastes. so let's say 2 degrees. one in journalism. one in culinary arts. and tons of restaurant and wine experience. there is a little more involved than going out on the 'company's' dime and saying wow great chicken parm. How do I go about getting into restaurant reviews?
A college degree in writing, then work for Newspaper or someplace like that for a while then see if they have food editor or critic?

The site I am looking for would need to have photos of most restaurants, menus, pricing, reviews that are legitimate, dress codes, and any other information that would be pertinent to deciding if the restaurant was what I was looking for.
