A commercial.
it is called manipulation and lying. Reviews are written by unbiased 3rd persons, that is the entire point of them. It could fall into deceptive advertising. Is it illegal to write reviews about your own restaurant?
It's not illegal, but it's very unprofessional. If people found this out the restaurant did make a review about itselft, it would get a bad reputation and loose more customers than you would've gained from making the review
Reviews are supposed to be written by someone who is unbiased. So, by defintiion, whatever your write cannot be passed off as a review. If you are caught little will probably happen except you will lose your customer base. Why not do what others do - advertise????Is it illegal to write reviews about your own restaurant?
hypocrite ;)
It's called "what every single restaurant owner already does." It's mildly unethical, but if you're talking about internet review sites you're not going to get anybody wound up enough to care to make any real difference. I'm sorry to burst the bubble of all the bright-eyed internet idealists, but there you have it.
