It depends. "Afraid" isn't what I would be. Interested would be. If it contained things that were based on things I could change then I would use that information to better the place. For example I wrote up a very negative review. It included factual information like "It took 10 minutes to be greeted at the front desk" [I timed it], or the "the chicken was cold, and tasted like it has been reheated in the microwave". These are things I could address.
However if the review was "the water had a disgruntled look on his face" or "It was to hot/cold" these are more subjective and could be ignored.
I would not be afraid, but utilize the reviews to better the restaurant under the management principles of CMI [Continuous Measurable Improvement]If you were a restaurant owner would you be afraid of the internet reviews that people can write about you?
They may get looked at but I'm not dumb enough to let others think for me. I'm smart enough to know that every ones taste buds likes and dislikes are different. One writer can say oh I didn't like this plate or the servers were terrible. I'm a server and I know for one I can have a terrible day of serving and then have days where I have no mess ups. I eat out at least twice a week and have gotten foods that I normally get and like and have at least had one bad experience with them but that doesn't stop me from ordering it again. Someone elses dislikes is not the same as mine, you may dislike it I may be neutrual to it.If you were a restaurant owner would you be afraid of the internet reviews that people can write about you?
No - anything people put, CAN be edited or responded to - and if I had to worry about it, it means I need to make some changes and I know it. I have had one review I put on Yahoo local about a taxi company removed - and everything I said was true. It wasn't NICE, but it all was true.
it's all publicity so no
